Financial Literacy Video Games

D2D’s vision is “financial entertainment.” Taking cues from business and entertainment, D2D wants to work with and for consumers in the development of engaging new media that teach them how to better manage their money. This new media starts with casual video games but also includes animation, music, and video.

Making Games

D2D is making financial literacy casual games, and we have completed our first prototype game, Celebrity Calamity. This game teaches important lessons about the use of debit cards and credit cards.

D2D has begun work on our second game which leverages the same innovative development process used for Celebrity Calamity.

Distribution

D2D is currently working on pilot distribution of Celebrity Calamity to evaluate its effectiveness in a variety of channels. These include:

  • Community colleges;
  • Employers;
  • Financial institutions; and
  • Community organizations

Efficacy Measurement

D2D is also pursuing a broader measurement strategy for our games in order to increase our understanding of the preliminary results.
