D2D and CFSI to Launch Financial Capability Development (FinCapDev) Competition

This fall, D2D Fund and Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI) will launch the Financial Capability Development (FinCapDev) Competition, which will offer cash prizes, access to expert advice, and other resources to foster development of the best mobile applications to help working Americans make smart financial choices and better access financial services. Please click here for more information.

The goal of the competition is to cultivate an ecosystem of American innovators, software developers, financial service firms, investors, and nonprofits innovating next-generation mobile tools to help consumers control and shape their financial futures through the launch of new mobile financial applications (apps) that improve consumer financial access and/or capabilities. The FinCapDev Competition is a complementary competition to the U.S. Treasury‚Äôs MyMoneyAppUp Challenge, which was also administered by D2D and CFSI.  FinCapDev provides the space in which MyMoneyAppUp competitors can take their ideas from concept to functional, market-ready app. The Competition is made possible by the support of the Ford Foundation, the Citi Foundation, and Omidyar Network.
